PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Mr. Figueroa received his law degree from the University of Chile, followed by a LLM in International Law, Investment, Trade and International Arbitration from the University of Heidelberg/University of Chile. Also he has a Fellow Chartered, Institute of Arbitrors. He has a Master in Economics and Administration for Attorneys from Gabriela Mistral University and a diploma in Public Works Concessions from the Universidad del Desarrollo. He is advisor to diverse construction companies and property developers and a specialist in Urban and Environmental Law. He has been elected as a leading lawyers of the real state sector in Chile by the LatinAmerican Guide of Chambers and Partners. He is an arbitrator for Public Works Concessions en Chile and  for the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce and for the International Centre for Dispute Resolution within the International Division of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). He is evaluator arbitrator at the International Arbitration Competition, organized by  Buenos Aires University and Rosario University in Bogota; he has been an attorney member of the Chilea Supreme Court of Justice and an advisor to the Chilean Bar Association, the Inter-American Bar Association. He is an advisor for ACOP and the National Chamber of Real Estate Services.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES:

He is a professor of law school at University of Los Andes and the ESE Business School Real Estate Center; Academic Director of the Diploma of Real State Law; Professor of post graduate studies at Heidelberg Center for Latin America.

He is author and co-author in several publications: “Construction Law: Practical and Dogmatic Analisis“ (2017), The Current Real State Law” (2014); “The keys of the real estate world. A practical legal guide”. (2009); “The real estate agent facing real estate” (2008); “Urbanism and Construction” (co-authored in 2006); “Chilean Law on International Commercial Arbitration” (2005); “Online Arbitration in International Trade,” which won the award as the best paper at the 40th Conference of the Inter-American Federation of Attorneys held in Madrid, Spain, in 2004; “Dispute Resolution in the Chilean Public Works Concession Law,” which earned the 2003 Julio Chana Cariola prize awarded by the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce; “Real Estate Mega-Projects and the Environment” (1997); and “Constitutional Guarantees of Taxpayers in the 1980 Political Constitution” (1985).
